CAFUC is a university affiliated to the central government (Civil Aviation Administration of China). Selected as the pilot unit of MPL course promoted by the United Nations and the "Double First-class" construction plan of Sichuan Province. It is the world's largest flight training institution and the largest school dedicated to flight training. Known as the "cradle" of civil aviation pilots in China and the "Huangpu" of civil aviation management cadres in China.

China Aviation College originated from the People's Army and was formerly the 14th Aviation School of the People's Liberation Army. 1956 On May 26th, the Aviation School of the Civil Aviation Administration of China was established with the support of the Air Force. On September 22nd, it was named the 14th Aviation School of the People's Liberation Army. 1October 25th 1963 and 10 were renamed as China Civil Aviation Advanced Aviation School, and reported to the State Council for approval to be included in the list of institutions of higher learning; 1971May19 was renamed as the 14th Aviation School of the Chinese People's Liberation Army; 1August 7, 980 was renamed as China Civil Aviation Flight Academy; 1987 12 15 was renamed as Civil Aviation Flight Academy of China.
