Who is the alternate member of Chinese Academy of Sciences?
Among the results of 20 17 academician co-election of China Academy of Engineering announced yesterday, there is an alternate member of the 19th Central Committee: Dai, general manager of China Petrochemical Company.

The newly announced list of academicians elected by the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 20 17 also includes an alternate member of the 19th Central Committee, namely Yang Wei, vice president of China Aviation Research Institute and vice director of AVIC Science and Technology Committee.

Yang Wei, born in 1963, is the youngest aircraft chief designer in China. He designed the J-20 and Xiaolong two-seat combat trainer.

1978 when he graduated from junior high school, Yang Wei, known as a gifted teenager, applied for high school and college successively. Yang Wei, who can't wait for the university admission notice, can only enter a key high school. One day, Yang Wei, who had just been in high school for a month, was shouted out of the classroom. His father handed him a college admission notice. That year, Yang Wei was only fifteen years old. It was Yang Wei's seventh choice-Northwestern Polytechnical University admitted him.

It turned out that Yang Wei had poor eyesight and almost missed Xigong University. Due to the insistence of Professor Luo, a famous aviation scientist, Yang got the admission notice from the Aircraft Department of Xigong University. From 65438 to 0985, Yang Wei graduated with honors and was assigned to Chengdu Aircraft Design Institute.

Just arrived at the institute, Yang Wei took the initiative to find the chief designer of Song and asked to be his assistant. Mr. Song was very surprised. In a research institute with more than 1.800 people, a graduate student who has not officially registered directly asked him for a job, which he has never met.

Song Zong, nearly 60 years old, looked at Yang Wei, 22, angrily and arranged him in the newly established aviation flight quality and control laboratory to participate in the development of digital fly-by-wire flight control system, the key technology of the third generation fighter. Due to the strict technical blockade of western countries, some foreign experts even asserted that it is impossible for China's scientific and technological personnel to pass the "telex control" barrier.

Facing the domestic technical blank, Yang Wei led the members of the research group to compare and analyze the system reliability with new ideas, and conquered a series of key technologies of a new generation of fighters, becoming a pioneer in many technical fields. Yang Wei has also grown from a passionate young man to the chief designer of several national key aircraft.

1998, 35-year-old Yang Wei was entrusted by the chief model designer to be responsible for the development of J- 10 fighter. He led the team and adopted the flight test method of optimized combination, which greatly shortened the cycle of finalized flight test and broke the flight test records of many new aircraft in China.

In April, 2004, the J- 10 fighter was designed and finalized, and troops were equipped in batches in the same year, creating a precedent in the history of China's military aircraft.

After the J- 10 aircraft was finalized, the J- 10 two-seater aircraft was officially approved as a national high-tech weapon, and Yang Wei was appointed as the chief designer of the J- 10 two-seater aircraft. In the end, the J- 10 dual landline made its first flight as scheduled, and the design was finalized two years later.

In August 2003, the first flight of the "Xiaolong" fighter with Yang Wei as the chief designer was successful, which once again created a miracle in the history of aircraft development in China.

In March this year, on the National Day of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, as the chief designer of the Xiaolong aircraft jointly developed by China and Pakistan, Yang Wei accepted the "Star of Excellence" National Medal of Honor at the Presidential Palace in Islamabad.
