Du Weiming's research revolves around the modern transformation of Confucian tradition in China, and he is known as the representative of contemporary neo-Confucianism. Due to his outstanding contributions, Du Weiming won the 9th International Toejie Research Award in 20001year and the Ecological Religion Award awarded by the United Nations in 2002.

Born in Nanhai, Guangdong, 1940 Kunming, Yunnan. 196 1 graduated from Donghai university in Taiwan Province province. Later, he won the Harvard-Yanjing Scholarship to study in the United States, and successively obtained the master's degree and doctor's degree from Harvard University, and became an American citizen from 65438 to 0976.
