Brief introduction of British Ministry of Defence
The Ministry of Defence (MoD) is the department responsible for implementing the government's national defense policy and the headquarters of the British armed forces. According to the Ministry of National Defense, its main goal is to defend Britain and its interests and strengthen international peace and stability. With the disintegration of the Soviet Union and the end of the Cold War, the Ministry of National Defense no longer regards any short-term conventional military threats, but regards weapons of mass destruction, international terrorism and failed countries as the primary threats to British interests. The Ministry of National Defense also manages the day-to-day operation of the armed forces, emergency plans and defense procurement. The current British Defence Secretary is philip hammond.
