1989 12 Tang was born in a rural family in Dingxi, Gansu. Tang's admiration for soldiers and yearning for military life made him choose to enter the military academy without hesitation when he graduated from high school.

In July 2008, Tang got the admission notice from Air Force Aviation University. In August 2008, Tang reported to the basic flight training base of Air Force Aviation University and became an air force flight student.

20 12 Tang graduated from Air Force Aviation University and became an excellent pilot. Tang used to be the squadron leader of a brigade of the Air Force Aviation. He flew over six types of aircraft and was rated as a first-class pilot of the Air Force.

20 18 Tang participated in the selection of the third batch of preparatory astronauts in China. In September 2020, Tang was selected as the third batch of astronauts in China. June 5438 +2023 10, Tang was selected as the crew of Shenzhou 17 manned mission.

On June 26th, 2023, 10, the first flight crew composed of the second and third astronauts will go out to space. Less than 34 years old, Tang became the youngest astronaut to perform the space station mission.

Shenzhou 17 manned mission

June 5438 +2023 10, after comprehensive evaluation, it was selected as the crew of Shenzhou 17 manned mission. The Shenzhou 17 manned spacecraft was launched at 20231October 26th1110: 04 Beijing time, as decided by the mission headquarters of the space station in the application and development phase. The astronauts carrying out this mission are composed of three astronauts: Tang Hongbo, Tang and Jiang Xinlin.

654381October 26th, after the manned spacecraft and the space station successfully achieved autonomous rapid rendezvous and docking, the Shenzhou 17 astronaut entered the orbital module from the spacecraft return module.

At 20231October 26th 1014, the Long March II F- 17 carrier rocket carrying the Shenzhou 17 manned spacecraft was ignited and launched at Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center. About 10 minutes later, the Shenzhou 17 manned spacecraft was successfully separated from the rocket and entered the scheduled orbit. The astronauts were in good condition and the launch was a complete success.
