Ren Tao is so valued, but his grave is just a mound.
Ren Tao in Qin Dynasty

After Qin Shihuang unified all countries, the Qin Dynasty was established, and Ren Tao was a general under Qin Shihuang. He was brave and invincible, so he was highly valued by Qin Shihuang. Qin Shihuang appointed Ren Tao as a general to pacify Lingnan and other areas, which is now Guangdong and Guangxi. Historically, Ren Tao made great contributions to the unification of Guangdong and Guangxi in the late Qin Dynasty.

It is said that Qin Shihuang mobilized 500,000 troops for Ren Tao and sent him to Lingnan to put down the rebellion. Is this a 500,000 elite soldier or a straggler? How much help has it brought to Ren Tao? These are not the most important things. What is important is that Ren Tao's planning strategy is outstanding. Ren Tao failed to attack Lingnan for the first time. The second time, he learned his experience and made a new plan: using the good relationship between Chu people and Lingnan people, let Lingnan people think that it was not Qin Jun who attacked them, but Chu army. As a result, southerners naturally relaxed their vigilance, making Qin Jun of Ren Tao take advantage of it and formally win Lingnan.

Ren Tao of Qin Dynasty lived here after occupying Lingnan, and managed the place well. But after the death of the King of Qin, the Qin people were unstable, and Chen Sheng and others rebelled. The local ambitious people spoiled, and they joined the battle for hegemony in the Central Plains. Fortunately, Qin is stronger than Mazhuang, and its fighting capacity has always been good. Finally, the rebels were wiped out. However, after the rebel uprising was eliminated, the Chu-Han War was ushered in, and Qin was really in hot water.

The news spread to the distant Lingnan. Because Ren Tao was seriously ill at that time, he didn't take part in the Central Plains War, so he had plans for Lingnan. It is said that Ren Tao of Qin Dynasty planned to establish his own dynasty in Lingnan, but Ren Tao finally died, and this idea never ended.

Renmu

Ren was a general in the Qin Dynasty. In 208 BC, he suddenly became seriously ill in the Central Plains War. Then discuss with Zhao Tuo to cede Lingnan to the enemy to avoid war, and let the enemy serve as the county commandant of Lingnan Navy. In 206 BC, Ren Tao was hit hard after hearing the news of the demise of the Qin Dynasty. His already seriously ill body was overwhelmed and eventually died of illness. Zhao Tuo was buried in Panyu, Ren Tao.

Renmu

Ren Tao's tomb is now located in a small mound surrounded by ancient banyan trees in the guesthouse in the center of Guangzhou. This mound is six to seven meters high. Such a simple mound is the graveyard of a generation of generals.

Many people are dissatisfied with the establishment of Ren Tao's tomb. Some people say that there is only one tombstone on Ren Tao's tomb. Everyone knows the importance of Ren Tao to the history of Guangdong. However, after the great man died, only one tombstone was erected on his grave. This is disrespectful to Ren Tao. Ren Tao, like Zhao Tuo, is a great hero in Lingnan. Zhao Tuo is buried in the scenic Yuexiu Mountain, while Ren Tao's tomb is so simple. Many people think that a monument should be erected for Ren Tao in Nanyue Pavilion, which is in line with Ren Tao's contribution to Lingnan.

In addition, Guangzhou was originally named Ren Tao, which was Panyu in the Qin Dynasty. Later, it was renamed Ren Tao City. Ren Tao has such an important history in Guangdong that it is more appropriate to set his memorial tablet in Nanyue Pavilion. There are many great men in Guangdong history, and Ren Tao's position should be the first. Fang Xinru, a poet in the Song Dynasty, once wrote a poem "The Tomb of Ren Xiao", which reads: "How many ups and downs does a withered grave have?"

Therefore, Ren Tao's tomb is very simple, but it is just a mound.

Renhe Zhao Tuo

Zhao Tuo, like Yu and Guo in the Spring and Autumn Period, has deep feelings for each other. As the viceroy of Guangdong and Guangxi, Zhao Tuo is the lieutenant. Qi Xin joined forces to finally win Lingnan, making it South Vietnam.

Qin sent Tusui and Zhao Tuo to attack Lingnan and other places with 500,000 troops, and South Vietnam fought for three years. The massacre was brutal, oppressed the people, aroused public anger, and finally broke out and was assassinated. After Tu Youyou's death, 500,000 company commanders of Guangdong and Guangxi lost their commanders, and then Ren Tao was appointed as the commander in chief and Zhao Tuo as the deputy commander in chief, jointly pacifying the war in Lingnan. Therefore, Ren Tao and Zhao Tuo met in the second Lingnan Campaign in history. Ren's March in Zhao Tuo was very tacit, and he finally lived up to the expectations of the King of Qi, captured Lingnan and became the boundary of the State of Qin. This is of great significance in history, and Zhao Tuo made an indelible contribution to the unification of Qin.

Everyone knows that the south has beautiful scenery, but in the Warring States period at that time, the south had not been reclaimed. Ren Tao and Zhao Tuo never intend to go back to North Korea in their lives, but they live in the land of South Vietnam. In other words, during their years in South Vietnam, the people of South Vietnam lived happily, but later the King of Qin died. In order to maintain the image of peace in Lingnan, Zhao Tuo and I discussed to leave the State of Qin and become "South Vietnam". After Ren Tao's death, Zhao Tuo was very sad, but he never forgot the agreement between them and Ren Tao's entrustment, and carried out the plan. During the Chu-Han War, Zhao Tuo formally established South Vietnam. In fact, the brilliant lives of Ren Tao and Zhao Tuo are interlinked. Ren Tao can't live without Zhao Tuo's help, and Zhao Tuo will accompany Ren Tao through his life. Such a tacit partner was actually rare in the Warring States period.
