Xiangxi prefecture shoufu
Jishou is the capital of Xiangxi Autonomous Prefecture. Jishou is located in the west of Hunan Province, at the eastern foot of Wuling Mountain, adjacent to Hubei, Chongqing and Guizhou provinces. It is the capital of Xiangxi Tujia Autonomous Prefecture and is known as the pearl of Wuling Mountain. The city has jurisdiction over 18 townships and sub-district offices with a total area of 1062 square kilometers and a population of 290,000. Jishou is also a famous town with a long history and rich humanities. Since the Qin dynasty, it has been a county in central Guizhou, and there was a dry state hall in the Qing dynasty. At the beginning of the Republic of China, it was changed to Gancheng County, 1953 was renamed Jishou County, and 1982 was withdrawn from the county to establish the city. It took more than two thousand years. Fenghuang ancient city belongs to Jishou, about 40 minutes' drive from Jishou. Tomorrow we will visit the ancient city of Fenghuang and experience its charm and culture. Jishou was originally called Gancheng, and now it is ready to restore the culture and architecture of the ancient Gancheng. Due to geographical restrictions, Jishou City is a narrow strip between two mountains, and there is a main road in the city. Although the city is small, traffic jams are common. The streets are messy and traffic accidents often occur. Jishou City is mainly built along the Donghe River. Donghe River is also the mother river of Jishou, but due to the lack of urban planning and transformation, neither the old city nor the new city can present its historical and cultural atmosphere. Ok, there is a 50-year-old Jishou University here. This afternoon, I made a special trip to Jishou University and Huang Yongyu Museum, and I had a good impression on Jishou University.
