Hu Hongyuan, pen name Hu Shi, was born in 1959. He loved painting and calligraphy since he was a child. When he was young, he traveled around the world and realized painting. 1976, in An Painting Academy, Mr. Jiang Wenkan and Mr. Xiao Huan gave directions on painting, and then visited Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts, where they met Sun Qifeng, a master of flower and bird painting, and worshipped him as a teacher. Since then, his mind has been greatly broadened, and his painting art has also advanced by leaps and bounds, and his works have been recognized by Sun Qifeng. During his decades of painting career, he visited many famous teachers, and his works were also pointed out and praised by famous artists such as Huo Chunyang, Bai Gengyan and Yang Deshu.

1992 to 1994

He studied at the Central Academy of Arts and Crafts and made his (peony) paintings more exquisite through a series of colleges. His works had never been exhibited before 2004, which means that from the beginning of a famous monk in China, Master Chu Yang praised his works: "Zen is full of wisdom".
