Xiang, a contemporary master of China Zheng music, was born in Shanghai, 1940, and enjoys a good reputation in China music scene and at home and abroad. He majored in piano in his early years, then studied under Cao Zheng and studied other schools of Zheng music, and graduated from the folk music department of Shanghai Conservatory of Music. I tried to play the double Zheng for the first time at school, and my reputation was good.

After graduation, Xiang worked as a guzheng soloist in Beijing Film Orchestra, Shanghai Orchestra and China Opera House, and taught in Beijing Central Conservatory of Music and China Conservatory of Music. Member of China Musicians Association, director of Beijing Guzheng Research Association.
