Mojiang hani autonomous county is located in the south of Yunnan Province and the north of Pu 'er City, bordering Honghe County and Lu Chun County in Honghe Prefecture in the east and southeast, Jiangcheng County in the south, Er County in Jiangning County in the west across the river, zhenyuan county in the northwest, Xinping County and Yuanjiang County in Yuxi City in the north and northeast. The county is narrow from east to west and long from north to south. The widest horizontal distance from east to west is 76 kilometers, and the longest longitudinal distance from north to south is 136 kilometers, with a total area of 53 12 square kilometers.
Mojiang Mountain is high and deep, with ditches and rivers. The historical evolution of Mojiang County;
Mojiang was originally named Talang. During the Han, Three Kingdoms and Southern and Northern Dynasties, Liangshui County, Yizhou County and Xinggu County were places out of the city, while Nanzhao in the Tang Dynasty and Dali in the Song Dynasty were places of wealth and frugality. In the second year of the Republic of China (19 13), the abandoned hall was changed to a county, renamed Talang County, and listed as a second-class county. The director was renamed the county magistrate (18 later renamed the county magistrate). In the 4th year of the Republic of China (19 15), it was renamed Mojiang County with the approval of the Yunnan provincial government, and the county name was named after the Amu River which runs through the county.
After the founding of People's Republic of China (PRC), Mojiang County was still established. 1950 On May 4th, with the approval of Yunnan Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China, Mojiang County Committee of China was established, and the temporary people's government of Mojiang County was renamed Mojiang County People's Government.
1979 On July 30th, with the approval of the State Council Guofa (79) 186, Mojiang County was abolished and mojiang hani autonomous county was established in the former Mojiang County. In the same year128 October, a celebration meeting was held in the county seat to celebrate the establishment of the autonomous county.
