Sun 1. Lu 'an, short for English, is also called "High City". The jurisdiction is adjacent to Hefei, the provincial capital in the east, Anqing City in Hubei Province, Yingshan County and Luotian County in the south, Henan Province Mall and Gushi in the west, and Huainan City and Fuyang City across the river in the north. It is the central city of Dabie Mountain, the sub-central city of Hefei Economic Circle, the provincial capital, the connecting city of Wanjiang City Belt, the industrial transfer and radiation city of Yangtze River Delta and the national land transportation hub city. The mayor of Lu 'an has a surname Sun. 1September, 1999, the State Council approved the withdrawal of land from Lu 'an to set up a city. The former county-level Lu 'an City was divided into jin an district and Yu 'an District, and the provincial-level Lu 'an City was formally established in March 2000.
