The School of Information Resources Management of Renmin University of China has established a research center for the protection and appraisal of literature, calligraphy and painting (hereinafter referred to as the "research center"). The director of the research center is Professor Zhang Bin, Dean of the School of Information Resources Management, member of the National Advisory Committee of China Archives Heritage Project and an expert in archival value research. The deputy director is an associate professor of experimental and theoretical research on supercritical carbon dioxide cleaning and drying of semiconductor devices in the School of Science, Renmin University of China. He studied under the first generation appraiser Mr. Yang for nearly 30 years as an expert in calligraphy and painting appraisal and psychology, and distinguished professor of the Chinese University of Hong Kong as an expert in document protection technology, restoration technology and authenticity appraisal of archives in the School of Information Resources Management.

The School of Information Resources Management of Renmin University of China has four academic majors, including archival science, information science, library science and Chinese and foreign political systems, and five majors, including master of library science and information science. At the level of in-service doctoral education, there is now a major in archival science. The college has more than 400 students, including undergraduates, master students, doctoral students and international students.

The Research Center for the Protection and Appraisal of Literature, Calligraphy and Painting has hired more than a dozen researchers from Renmin University of China, Princeton University, Chinese University of Hong Kong, Taiwan Province Yunlin University of Science and Technology, National Museum, National Library, China First Historical Archives, Palace Museum, Capital Museum and Capital Library.

The protection and appraisal of literary painting and calligraphy includes archives protection, book protection, cultural relics protection, painting and calligraphy collection appraisal, chemistry, biology and other disciplines, which belong to the interdisciplinary of arts and sciences. Combined with the actual situation and development trend at home and abroad, the research center will carry out corresponding research and practice work around the core issues and key development directions of document painting and calligraphy protection appraisal, establish a comprehensive appraisal system of document painting and calligraphy based on scientific and technological appraisal and experience appraisal, and hold international conferences and academic seminars irregularly in cooperation with the world's four major painting and calligraphy appraisal research centers to promote exchanges and cooperation. The construction goal of the research center is to build an academic team and talent training system to further develop the research direction of document protection, calligraphy and painting collection and appraisal, and form a four-in-one development pattern of document protection and appraisal talent training, subject learning and research, practice and entrepreneurship, and engineering transformation.
