According to Yan Yongjiu, secretary of the Party Committee of Jiangkou Town, in early June 2009, in order to solve the problem of old-age care for landless peasants, Yunyang County included four types of landless peasants: schools, hospitals, market towns and traffic construction into social old-age insurance. Jiangkou Town involves landless peasants in 17 villages.

According to Yan Yongjiu, when the original 1 and 18 groups in Qianqiu Village of this town started to build the Qian Qiu Power Station in 79 (the power station was completed in 83), two groups of 2 mu of land were requisitioned.

Tao Yong, director of Jiangkou Town Land Institute, said that according to the spirit of relevant documents in Chongqing, Qianqiu Village 1 group and 18 group can enjoy three indicators of social endowment insurance for landless farmers. After extensive publicity and mobilization by village cadres, only two people voluntarily signed up for insurance at that time and went through relevant procedures. Since no one else signed up, the village cadres in Qian Qiu reported the unqualified relatives without authorization. However, after being reported by the masses, the town verified that the relative did not meet the relevant policies and regulations, and the town immediately canceled his eligibility for insurance, and severely dealt with his party and informed criticism.

At the beginning of September this year, another person in the group asked the town to participate in social security, but it could not be handled because it had exceeded the time limit stipulated by Chongqing.

At present, the town has set up a social security qualification review team, headed by Yan Yong, secretary of the town party Committee, and staff from the town discipline inspection commission, land and social security departments have been transferred to review the qualifications of those who apply for social security one by one.
