Franz Joseph Haydn

Franz Joseph Haydn (March 3 1 or April 1,1732–May 3 1, 1809) was a major composer in the classical period, and was called "the father of symphony" and "the father of string quartet". Although people generally call him "Franz Joseph Haydn" (many published music scores and records use this full name), Haydn spent most of his life using his second name, which was spelled "Joseph" in German and signed "joseph haydn" in letters and documents.
