In the twenty-fourth year of Jian 'an (2 19), in the battle of Dingjun Mountain, Huang beheaded Xia, a general under Cao Cao, and became a general. Liu Bei was named King of Hanzhong, General and Hou in Shanhaiguan Pass. The following year, Huang Zhong died of illness. It took Jing Yao three years (260 years) to wait for him.
In Huangzhong Village, Yingmenkou Township, the western suburb of Chengdu, there is the tomb of the famous Huang Zhong of the Three Kingdoms. In the fifth year of Daoguang reign in Qing Dynasty (1825), a farmer named Ji Yashu found a book with a tombstone of Hou Hansheng's Tomb in Huanggang, several human bones, a sword and a jade. The word "taboo Han Sheng" on the tombstone should be "taboo loyalty".
This shows that this monument is definitely not an old thing from the Three Kingdoms period, but it was probably erected when people repaired Huang Zhong's tomb after the Tang and Song Dynasties. But it also shows that this should be the place where Huang Zhong was buried. So the squire and elders jointly donated money to repair Huang Zhong's tomb, which is 4 meters high and about 13 meters in circumference. Pines and cypresses are planted in the cemetery.
Extended data
In the novel Romance of the Three Kingdoms, Huang Zhong appeared in the fifty-third time, and Liu Bei won a great victory in Battle of Red Cliffs, taking the opportunity to seize four counties in the south of the Yangtze River. When Huang Zhong was guarding Changsha County, Guan Yu led 500 school swordsmen to attack and fight with Huang Zhong. Guan Yu defeated Huang Zhong with a drag knife, but he couldn't bear to kill him.
The next day, Huang Zhongji lured Guan Yu to repay Guan Yu for not killing him. He only used a bow and arrow to shoot Guan Yu, but Han Xuan, the satrap, suspected that Huang Zhong had second thoughts and wanted to behead him, but Wei Yan robbed him and Han Xuan was killed. Huang Zhong surrendered with Wei Yan.
After that, Huang Zhong and Wei Yan fought against Liu Bei in Sichuan, and their exploits were even greater. In the Hanzhong War, with the help of Huang Zhong, Xia, a general of Cao Wei, was cut in half at Dingjun Mountain, and the Tiandang Mountain was captured. Later, Zhao Yun went to grab Cao Cao's hay, but was ambushed by Wei General Huang Xu Zhang He. Thanks to Zhao Yun's rescue, he turned the tide.
