Liao Fushu (1907-2002), a native of Huizhou, Guangdong, is an outstanding music theorist, poet and translator. I studied ancient Chinese with my father, an old scholar in the former Qing Dynasty, and German and piano with my brother Zhu Qing (Liao) and German sister-in-law Hua Lisi. I 1922 studied in Guangzhou English Institute, and 1926 transferred to Guangdong Judges School. In Shanghai, I studied cello under the music professor Shevchov. Since 1930, he has published articles on music in Le Yi Quarterly and Ta Kung Pao. Committed to the translation of German and Austrian literature during the Anti-Japanese War. He has taught in Shanghai National Conservatory of Music and Nanjing National Conservatory of Music. After that, he moved to Beijing and taught at the Central Conservatory of Music. He teaches China literature, music appreciation, the history of ancient music in China, and selected readings of China's musical theories in past dynasties. Teaching and educating people, dying here. He is the author of China Literature Appreciation, China Ancient Music History, Notes on Ci, Biography of Xiao, Paradise Talking about the Future, etc. His translations include Conspiracy and Love, Wagner's Music Theory and Outline of the History of Western Music Development.

1935 the school song of Beiyang university was written to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the founding of Beiyang university, the first university in modern China, with lyrics by Liao Fushu. This school song was inherited by Tianjin University and has been sung ever since. Among them, the lyrics of "not on paper, but on the spot to transform China" inspired generations of students. The children's song "The Language of the West Wind", composed by Huang Zi and written by Liao Fushu, is even more popular and sung by generations of teenagers.

Liao Fushu, formerly known as Shangyi and pen name Jufu, used to be named Li Yi. Liao, my younger brother, was born in a scholarly family on the shore of Xiushui Lake in the west of Huicheng District. Influenced by his brother's progressive thought, Liao Fushu entered Guangdong Judges School on 1926, and ran for the revolution side by side with his young master. He took part in the Guangzhou Uprising in 1927, and went to Shanghai with his brother to help the young master set up the magazine Le Yi. 1930 was hired to work in the library of Shanghai Conservatory of Music as a German teacher in a foreign language school. 65438-0934, secretary of the principal's office of Shanghai Conservatory of Music. 1940, the Kuomintang created a split, and Liao Fushu, then an officer, resolutely left his post and became the Eurasian Aviation Commissioner; 1943, moved to Guilin from Qujiang, was appreciated by Liu Yazi, a revolutionary veteran, and served as the secretary of the "Nanming History Compilation Committee" to participate in the compilation. From 65438 to 0946, Liao Fushu was a professor at Nanjing National Conservatory of Music. He worked hard for students in juvenile classes with poor living and learning conditions, and ushered in the dawn of the founding of New China in the dark hours before dawn. After the establishment of the Central Conservatory of Music, Liao Fushu was hired as a professor and later transferred to the research department.
