The full name of AOI in Chinese is automatic optical inspection, which is based on optical principle to detect common defects encountered in welding production. As its name implies, optical automatic detection is a means to realize automatic detection through imaging of optical system, and it is also one of many automatic image sensing detection technologies.

The image acquisition system of 1.AOI mainly includes three parts: photoelectric conversion photography system, lighting system and control system. Photoelectric conversion photography system refers to photodiode device and its matching imaging system. The principle is that the photodiode receives the light reflected by the detected object, and the light energy is converted into charge, and the charge is transmitted to form a voltage analog signal.

Second, the data processing stage: the data processing stage is the image preprocessing stage, which is the processing process of collecting images and providing accurate and reliable image information for image comparison, mainly including the processes of reducing background noise, enhancing and sharpening. Image background denoising is generally a method to smooth the image by low-pass filtering.

3. Image analysis stage: In the image analysis stage, the image attributes are expressed quantitatively through mathematical means and programming by using the characteristics of the unique attributes such as edges, corners and regions contained in the image. Then the images are segmented and compared to complete the analysis and processing. The representation of an edge is a pixel that constitutes a boundary or edge between two image areas.
