1, Taiyuan Vocational and Technical College, located in Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province, is an ordinary public institution of higher learning which was put on record by the Shanxi Provincial People's Government and the Ministry of Education in 2003 and merged by Taiyuan Economic Management Cadre College, Taiyuan Industrial Economics School and Taiyuan Urban Construction School. Since 2000, it has obtained the national general higher education enrollment qualification.

2. Shanxi Vocational and Technical College is a provincial general higher vocational and technical college in Shanxi Province. It is a national-level higher vocational college with excellent talent training level, a national high-quality higher vocational college, a backbone higher vocational construction college of "National Model Higher Vocational College Construction Plan", the first batch of modern apprenticeship pilot units in China, and a high-quality higher vocational college in Shanxi Province.

3. Shanxi Communications Vocal Music Technical College, located in xiaodian district, Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province, is the only communications college with higher vocational level in Shanxi Province.

The school, formerly known as Shanxi Jiaotong School, was founded in 1958. In 2000, it was approved as a national key middle school, and was upgraded to a higher vocational and technical college with the approval of the provincial government in 20001.

4. Taiyuan Technician College is a comprehensive vocational and technical college integrating the training of senior skilled personnel, skill appraisal, vocational introduction and vocational training. Can carry out the education system of intermediate workers, senior workers and reserve technicians, entrepreneurship training, migrant workers training, re-employment training and vocational qualification appraisal of senior workers.

5. Taiyuan Charity Vocational and Technical School was established on September 2, 2008. It is the first charity technical school in China, and the financial allocation is full. The school is sponsored by Taiyuan Municipal Government of Shanxi Province, and is in charge of Taiyuan Charity Federation. The school motto is: "study hard and practice your skills, and support your family and serve your country well."
