On hearing the name Shi Jian (19 13-), people will inevitably think of the word "traitor", that is, even the generation after 70 who seldom watch Cantonese movies know the famous "traitor". Who can forget his loud voice, chilling fake smile and his charm
Uncle Jian laughs at himself for not being able to read, but reading widely: opera, martial arts and history books; Martial arts is because you were weak when you were young. During his stay in War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, Uncle Jian performed dramas in two provinces and Hongkong, and taught himself makeup "by the way". It has been more than 50 years since 1940 black powder debuted. It has participated in more than 300 films, with an amazing number, most of which are villains. Uncle Jian doesn't mind playing a traitor. Even though the quality of film production is uneven, Uncle Jian always works hard to play the role well. Whenever uncle Jian appears, the audience always wakes up. Uncle Jian once participated in the first Huang Feihong movie "Whip the Wind and Extinguish the Candle", and gradually became an "imperial" opponent. The series of "Rape Law" are different. Almost all screen heroes in Cantonese movies fought against Uncle Jian until he confronted Bruce Lee in enter the dragon (1973). Without Shi Jian's treachery, how can Huang Can Hong Fei's loyalty be demonstrated?
It turns out that Uncle Jian is fond of drama, which is several excellent works of Zhonglian: Spring, Forever, Road and so on. Some images in Cantonese movies have been deeply rooted in people's hearts, such as Xie Xun, the golden lion king in The Dragon Slayer by Eternal (Uncle Jian revealed that it was adapted from Shakespeare's drama King Lear) and Tian Duanjiao in The Palm of the Tathagata, who were invited to play the same role again in the remake. After the 1970s, Uncle Jian was gradually able to show his true colors to the audience: an elegant, kind, humble and indifferent elder.
The strong uncle on the screen can have both good and evil, and can be literary and martial. Being selected for the film is also to show his diversified image. In addition to Huang Feihong movies, classic Zhonglian productions, and the rare early "Loyalty Corner", it also includes performances in the 1970s and 1980s, including the rarely broadcast "New Wave" work "Travel Rules", especially the fisherman filmed by 1976 for Radio Television Hong Kong's "Under the Lion Mountain", and the classic advertising clips he performed. Although Uncle Jian doesn't always play the leading role, he always gives full play in a limited space, which is impressive. His dedication and persistence in performing arts deserves our admiration.
