The ancient Diaoyutai is one of the famous gardens in the western suburbs of Beijing. It was named after the emperor Jin Zhangzong (A.D. 1 168-1208) built a fishing platform here. The park is about 1 km long from north to south, 0.5 km wide from east to west, with a total area of 420,000 square meters, a total construction area of165,000 square meters and lakes. In the Qing Dynasty, Emperor Qianlong (1736- 1795) ordered the dredging of Yuyuantan and built a palace here as a royal garden. Modern State Guesthouse Park was built by the municipal government of People's Republic of China (PRC) (China) on the basis of the ancient Diaoyutai Scenic Area from 1958 to 1959, and was used as the accommodation, meeting and meeting place for visiting state guests.
