Extended data:
Jiang's ancestor:
Jiang Boling, surnamed Ji, named Bo, Jiangzhou (Huaibin, Henan), the third son. After Zhou Wuwang and Ji Fa destroyed dissolute Shang Zhouwang.
The Zhou Dynasty perished shortly after its establishment, and Zhou Chengwang succeeded to the throne. Because the king was young and Zhou Gongdan was the regent, Zhou Gongdan helped him quell the rebellion of Wu Geng, the son of Shang Zhouwang, and the Yi people in the east, and established the patriarchal clan system.
He founded the system of laws and decrees, and constantly enfeoffed governors with the same surname, among whom the third son, Boling, was named Jiang Bo (now Si Qi Town, Huaibin County, Henan Province, formerly known as Jiang Ji, in the northeast of Gushi County, Henan Province, now Guangshan County, Henan Province).
In 6 17 BC, Jiang Guo was destroyed by Chu, and later generations took the country name as their surname, and respected Jiang Boling as the ancestor of Jiang.
