On September 30th, 20 14, Liao Kai Expressway (Liaoyuan Section Phase I), a key project of provincial traffic engineering, was officially completed and opened to traffic, and the opening ceremony was held. It is understood that the opening of the expressway will greatly shorten the time and space distance between Liaoyuan City and other foreign cities such as Shenyang, making it convenient for citizens to travel.

It is understood that Liao Kai Expressway connects Yitong-Liaoyuan Expressway in the north and Xifeng-Kaiyuan Expressway in Liaoning in the south, with a total length of 36.86 kilometers, which was completed in two phases. The first phase of the project started in Lianchang Village, Liaoyuan City. During this period, the Dongliao Interchange Bridge was erected, crossing the Garden Ridge, and the Vince An Interchange Bridge was erected in wulong village, directly connecting Wulongling (the provincial boundary) and Liaoning Expressway. The total length of the route is 28.24 kilometers. Among them, the length of main line is 15.88km, and the length of interchange ramp is12.36km.. Bridges and culverts 129, with a cumulative length of 2.6 kilometers, management office 1 each, maintenance work area 1 each, provincial toll stations on the main line 1 each, and two toll stations in the interchange area. The design speed is 100 km/h, the subgrade width is 26 meters, and the pavement adopts rubber asphalt concrete structure.
Liao Kai Expressway (Liaoyuan Section Phase I) started in June 20 12 and was completed and opened to traffic on September 30/20 14. It only took two years and three months. High-tech content is a highlight of expressway construction. In highway construction, six experimental projects were carried out, including rubber powder SBS modified asphalt pavement, ecological block protection, pavement stress absorption layer design, volcanic ash additive mixture, gravel pile, CFG pile and pipe pile to treat soft soil subgrade, and water source drainage system design. Among them, the asphalt rubber test and the test project of changing overlapping arch protection into ecological block protection are the test sections of the "double demonstration" project of Heda Expressway. If the effect is good, it will be popularized in the highway construction in the whole province in the future. At the same time, in highway construction, the slope of the large excavation section is decorated with ecological blocks, and the sika deer, cotton socks, pipa, peasant paintings and two people in Liaoyuan City are transferred to the expressway, forming a new bright spot of greening and beautification.
According to statistics, after the completion of Liao Kai Expressway (the first phase of Liaoyuan Section), Liaoyuan to Shenyang is only 199.5 km, and the driving distance is less than two hours, which greatly shortens the time and space distance between Liaoyuan and Shenyang. It is 858 kilometers to Beijing and the driving time is eight and a half hours. It's 558 kilometers to Dalian, and the driving time is five and a half hours. The opening of the expressway has created an inter-provincial road to benefit the people and created a convenient, smooth, safe and comfortable shortcut for people traveling along the two provinces.
