Why is Eleven Nautical Mistakes called the Quan Zhi of Marine Life?
1886, Guo Baicang wrote five volumes of Eleven Mistakes in the Sea based on his personal experience at the seaside for decades and the experience of consulting old fishermen. One book is about fishing, and it is about fishing tools and methods. Two volumes 174 species of fish. The third volume records 12 1 kinds of interfaces and seashells. The fourth volume records 30 species of insects (including 24 species of marine plants), which supplements and enriches the contents of books before the Qing Dynasty. Most of the records are actual observation records, and most of them use folk materials. For example, there are as many as 25 kinds of sharks. Firstly, the characteristics of "its skin is like sand, its back has rings, its abdomen has wings, and it is viviparous", and then it is distinguished according to its size, head and tail characteristics and body color.
