What level is the education department?
The education department is a department-level unit, and the secretary of the party group is a department-level cadre. There are four kinds of education bureaus, namely, directors of education bureaus of municipalities directly under the central government (main hall (bureau) level), directors of education bureaus of deputy provincial cities (deputy department level), directors of education bureaus of ordinary provincial capitals and autonomous region capitals, directors of education bureaus of prefecture-level cities under ordinary provincial jurisdiction (director level) and directors of education bureaus of county-level cities (director level). Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin and Chongqing are four municipalities directly under the central government. At present, there are fifteen sub-provincial cities: Harbin, Changchun, Shenyang, Jinan, Nanjing, Hangzhou, Guangzhou, Wuhan, Chengdu, Xi 'an, Dalian, Qingdao, Ningbo, Xiamen and Shenzhen. Among them, Dalian, Qingdao, Ningbo, Xiamen and Shenzhen are all cities under separate state planning and sub-provincial cities.
