How does WORD add vertical bars?
1. Open the Word document to which you want to add vertical lines.

2. Click the Insert option in the page toolbar.

3. Find and click the "Shape" option.

4. Click the Shape option and select the first set of line shapes in Line.

5. Click the left mouse button where the vertical line needs to be inserted, and drag the mouse to draw a line.

6. Click this line to enter the "Drawing Tool" option.

7. Click the options below to change the shape and style of the inserted vertical line.

8. The figure below shows the final effect of inserting a vertical line.
