This morning, I learned from the office of the eldest son of General Ren Rong, the "founding general": "Comrade Ren Rong died in Wuhan at 2: 28 on June 20 17 at the age of 100".
Ren Rong, a native of Cangxi County, Sichuan Province, was born in 19 17. 1933 joined the Chinese Communist Youth League and joined the Chinese Workers and Peasants Red Army in the same year. 1934 from the communist youth league to China.
He has distinguished himself in military service all his life, and participated in the Long March, War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the War of Liberation. He also volunteered to participate in the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea and served as a member of the Korean Military Armistice Commission for nearly nine years. In his later years, General Ren Rong still devoted himself to his studies, entered the university for the aged and worked tirelessly with the attitude of "never too old to learn". General Ren Rong had eight children in his life, and the first two died during the war.
Just at the end of April this year, Dabai News interviewed General Ren Rong's eldest son Ren, and listened to his revolutionary legend in the war years (the son of the founding general Ren Rong: six brothers and sisters never dared to do things in the name of their father).
It is understood that during the ten years from 1955 to 1965, a total of 16 14 "founding generals" in China were awarded the title. Today, there are only 29 survivors, all of whom are major generals. Among them, General Ren Rong, born in 19 17, officially entered the ranks of "the centenarian founding generals alive" this year. ...
