He graduated from the Department of Enterprise Management of Fudan University in his early years and served as deputy director of the Enterprise Cadre Management Office of the Organization Department of Shanghai Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China, director of Shanghai High-tech Achievements Transformation Service Center, president of Shanghai Technology Property Exchange, director of Shanghai Science and Technology Development Exchange Center, secretary and general manager of the Party Committee of Shanghai Pioneer Pharmaceutical Company, secretary and director of Shanghai Wuzhou Pharmaceutical Company (later changed to secretary, chairman and general manager of Shanghai Wuzhou Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd.). Chairman of Shanghai Wuzhou-Hester Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (Sino-German joint venture), Chairman of Shanghai Jiuzhou Property Development Co., Ltd. (Shanghai-Hong Kong joint venture) and Chairman of Shanghai Pioneer-An Thibert Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (Sino-Italian joint venture).
He used to be the president of China Association of State-owned Property Rights Trading Institutions, the vice president of Shanghai Financial Industry Association, the vice president of Shanghai Economic Association, the vice president of Shanghai International Chamber of Commerce, the vice president of Shanghai World Trade Center Association, the chairman of the common market of property rights trading in the Yangtze River Basin, and the arbitrator of China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission.
