Wuchang fish, or bream fish, was named after Wuchang (now Ezhou), the ancient capital of the king of Wu during the Three Kingdoms period. Wu once moved the capital to Jianye (now Nanjing). Hou Sunhao of Wucheng intends to move back to Wuchang. Minister Lu Kai wrote an admonition and quoted the folk song "Drink Jianye water instead of eating Wuchang fish", which made Wuchang fish spread for more than 1700 years and became more and more famous. Fan Chengda, a poet in the Southern Song Dynasty, wrote a famous sentence, "Perch country laughs at anglers, Wuchang fish encourages them to stay". 1956, Mao Zedong wrote "Water Turning Around", starting with drinking Changsha water and eating Wuchang fish, which made Wuchang fish more famous at home and abroad. Wuchang fish is so famous that it is said to be its hometown in ancient and modern Wuchang. The ancient Wuchang fish did their duty, and there is an old saying that the producer of every mouth is the best in the world, and there is a saying that Wuchang fish is the bream of every mouth as evidence. Eight arguments in Wuchang today: Wuchang fish is produced in Liangzi Lake, and there is a bream pond in Niu Shan Lake in Wuchang County, which is the breeding base of Wuchang fish. In fact, the dispute between the two places can be unified: Liangzi Lake, the main producing area of Wuchang fish, is jointly managed by Ezhou City and Wuchang County, and many lakes in Wuchang County, including Niu Shan Lake, belong to Liangzi Lake system. The water in Liangzi Lake and its water system passes through Fan Chuan for 90 miles to Fankou River, and Wuchang fish goes downstream to Fankou to be caught, which is Fankou bream. It is generally believed that Wuchang fish, namely Megalobrama amblycephala, is a kind of bream. Some people think that it refers not only to bream, but also to bream Changchun and bream triangle, that is, the three sisters bream rich in bream pond.
