1966 graduated from high school, 1977 was admitted to the oil painting department of Shanxi University (now Shanxi Academy of Fine Arts) at the end of the Cultural Revolution, 1982 graduated with a bachelor's degree. During the period of 1984- 1988, he was employed by Shanxi Academy of Fine Arts (formerly Art Department of Shanxi University) as an oil painting teacher for many years. He has lived in Guangzhou since 1988. He used to be the editor-in-chief of China Modern Pictorial (now called New Modern Pictorial) under Guangzhou Federation of Literary and Art Circles, the editor-in-chief of Modern Designer in Hong Kong, and the artistic director of the design company for many years. Now he is a member of China Shanxi Artists Association and Guangdong Artists Association. 1997 was invited to study at Lie Bin National Academy of Fine Arts in St. Petersburg; From 65438 to 0999, he was invited by the Russian Federation of St. Petersburg Painters to work in St. Petersburg, Russia, and successively set up personal oil painting art studios in St. Petersburg, Russia and Guangzhou, China.

Characteristics of works
Wu Shiping, a Russian oil painter, loved, was close to and admired nature since childhood. He has a soft spot for landscape oil paintings. For decades, he has been persistently sketching in front of nature at home and abroad with large canvases. In the poetic and simple natural world, painters forget to integrate themselves into it, and often linger in the twilight, not afraid of the cold winter and the heat. Most of his works are collected by individuals and groups in China/Russian/German/French/British/Dutch/Finland/Spain/Singapore/Malaysia, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan. For more than ten years, during studying in Sacalov Studio of Russian Repin Academy of Fine Arts and working visit of Russian Artists Association in St. Petersburg, I painted and sketched with many Russian painters, which benefited them a lot. On the basis of the original domestic style, the painter's works have absorbed different elements of modern Russian oil paintings, and have the characteristics of realism, impressionism and romanticism.
At the same time, painters traveled all over Russia to sketch, learned about the advantages of Russian art, publicized the essence of Russian culture, contacted and met many friends and audiences from all walks of life inside and outside the Russian art circle, and assisted many outstanding young and middle-aged Russian painters to come to China for cultural exchanges, sketching and large-scale oil painting exhibitions, making contributions to promoting cultural and artistic exchanges between China and Russia and maintaining the traditional friendship between the Chinese and Russian peoples.
