Cao Lao's studio is located in a furniture factory near Henghe Street Office. It looks quiet and peaceful in the autumn sunshine.

This is a portrait sculpture of an old woman of Shui nationality with distinctive national characteristics. When interviewed by reporters, Cao Lao's wife, Sugar Singing, was still wearing work clothes and writing with a meat cleaver. In the 20 14 Guangdong Arts and Crafts Exhibition, Sugar Singing's "Qingyuan (Chicken)" woodcarving decoration also won the silver prize.

"Qingyuan (Chicken)" woodcarving is created around chickens. A magnificent rooster and hen nestled under a group of chicks with different expressions. Sugar Singing told reporters with a smile that this rooster represents Qingyuan and the chicken below represents the counties and cities below Qingyuan. Qingyuan chicken is also a feature of Qingyuan, so I thought of sub-regions and created this work in three months.

Talking about the next development, Cao Lao admits that what he wants to do most is to let woodcarving enter the campus.
