On the evening of September 12, the 5th China Poetry Festival, sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, the Chinese Writers Association and the Hubei Provincial Government, was grandly opened in Yichang. Luo Shugang, Party Secretary and Minister of the Ministry of Culture, announced the opening of the Poetry Festival. Dong Wei, Vice Minister of Culture, Ji Jia, Vice Chairman of Chinese Writers Association, Zhou Ji, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Secretary of Yichang Municipal Party Committee delivered speeches respectively. Vice Governor Guo Shenglian presided over the opening ceremony.
