Graduated from Tianjin Fine Arts School and admitted to the Fine Arts Department of North China University. 1952 to 1955, majoring in art history and theory, Central Academy of Fine Arts. Art editor once worked in the editorial department of Beijing People's Art Studio Art Magazine. He has been the creator of Beijing Fine Arts Studio, editor of Fine Arts magazine, researcher of China Academy of Fine Arts and China Academy of Art, vice chairman of China Folk Art Association, vice chairman of China Folk Arts and Crafts Committee, director, consultant and researcher of China Folk Society. Member of the Degree Jury of China Academy of Fine Arts, Vice President of China Folk Art Society, Deputy Director of China Folk Arts and Crafts Committee, Director of China Folk Art Society, and Chairman of China Woodblock New Year Pictures Publishing Research Association.

Since 1950s, he has given lectures on folk art in Central Academy of Fine Arts, China Painting Academy and CCTV successively, and has written more than 0/00 papers, such as Overview of Folk New Year Pictures in China, History of Door-keeper in China and Brief History of Line Drawing of Stone Carvings in China, which have been published in French, Japanese, Hongkong, Taiwan Province and other domestic and foreign journals, and have been invited to Australia, the Soviet Union and other places. Twenty-nine monographs with about 3 million words have been published.

Yangliuqing New Year Picture Dataset 1960 won the Silver Award in Leipzig International Book Fair, and 1985 won the Third National New Year Picture Award. The Complete Works of China Fine Arts, Stone Carving Line Painting and Folk New Year Pictures won the National Publishing Gold Award, Four Hundred Treasures of Folk Paintings in China won the 11th Book Award, and Playing New Year Pictures won the China Academy of Fine Arts Award.

From the age of 12 to the age of 85, more than 7000 pastel New Year pictures of/kloc-0 were collected, which was related to the folk art research of New Year pictures. He is Wang Shucun, an old man with New Year pictures. For more than 70 years, he has been roaming in China's vast folk art resources. He used his own hands and works to preserve and develop China's folk New Year pictures.

Wang Shucun, a researcher at the Chinese Academy of Art, an art historian and a collector of folk art, died in Beijing on the morning of June 3, 2009 1, at the age of 86.
