"Wang Zhongcheng China Neurosurgery Academic Achievement Award" is the highest personal honor award in the field of neurosurgery in China. Founded in 2004 by the Neurosurgery Branch of the Chinese Medical Association, it was named after Academician Wang Zhongcheng, the leader of neurosurgery in China and the winner of the highest national science and technology award. Only two scholars win this honor every year.

In the past 30 years, Wang has completed more than 5,000 specialized operations, and accumulated scientific research achievements and clinical experience in the treatment of various common and frequently-occurring diseases in neurosurgery and difficult and serious diseases in surgical treatment, especially in the diagnosis and treatment of difficult tumors such as deep brain tumors, skull base tumors and brain stem tumors, as well as complex cerebral aneurysms and cerebrovascular malformations.
