1One day in September, 967, Ren Bangru and Ren Yaojie, two members of the Baicaopo Brigade of Xitun Commune, hid in a collapsed cave on the hillside to avoid the rain, and accidentally dug up bronze fragments that they thought were scrap metal in the mound with a sickle. Surprised, they dug up many bronze fragments and arrows in one breath, and the villagers who heard the news went into the cave to dig for treasures. According to Ren Xigu, who was involved in the excavation at that time and got the rare treasure of the Western Zhou Dynasty, people dug in caves and nearby hillsides at that time, and the bronzes and arrows dug out were sold to the purchasing station as waste. Ren Buxiang, then secretary of the brigade branch, was worried that members would have an accident if they dug indiscriminately, so he organized the labor force to carry out organized excavation. Many precious cultural relics of Tomb 1 and Tomb No.2 have also been exposed to the world in the excavation of villagers. After the news of the discovery of the ancient tomb in Baicaopo was reported to Lingtai County Cultural Center, the county cultural center immediately organized personnel to clean it up. The priceless treasure unearthed in the ancient tomb finally avoided the bad luck of being sent to the iron smelting furnace as scrap copper and iron. Later, Lingtai Cultural Center, Pingliang Exhibition Hall and Gansu Provincial Cultural Relics and Archaeological Team jointly excavated the ancient tombs of Baicaopo and confirmed that these tombs were Western Zhou tombs. Archaeologists excavated seven ancient tombs and 1 chemakeng near the two discovered ancient tombs. Baicaopo ancient tombs are located in the middle of Tushanzui between two ravines in the south of Baicaopo Village, with the north 1 mile from the cemetery as the top of the plateau, and the west side of the cemetery is adjacent to cliffs and deep streams. According to archaeologists' speculation, this tomb group was originally large in scale, and its western half was destroyed by the continuously collapsing ravines. The remaining nine tombs and 1 chemakeng are divided into south and north areas, about 60 meters apart. Except for Tomb No.2 and Tomb No.9, all these tombs were stolen in the early days or destroyed by nature. The tombs stolen in the early days were seriously damaged, and few relics were unearthed. After careful excavation and cleaning by archaeologists and cultural relics excavated by the masses, more than 800 pieces of various cultural relics/kloc-0 were excavated from the Western Zhou tomb in Baicaopo. Burial relics can be divided into three categories: bronze, ceramics and jade mussels, among which bronze is the most abundant. Among the buried cultural relics, there are as many as 27 national first-class cultural relics. Among a number of rare treasures, such as Ding, Gui, Zun, Jue, Gui, Dou, Peck Hammer, Jade Man, Bronze Empty Shell Dagger, Human Head Hook Ji, etc. , a few pieces belong to the first discovery of cultural relics in China. Among the unearthed bronzes, 24 bronzes are engraved with the inscription 14, which is rare in the domestic archaeological history.
