Ji Zheng joined the army in his early years and made many missions to the Western Regions, becoming a Langguan. In the autumn of the second year of Emperor Xuandi's Land Festival (the first 68 years), he was stationed in Quli (now Korla and Yulixi, Xinjiang), and sent troops to attack the automobile market (now Jimsar, Xinjiang) and break Jiaohe City (now Turpan West) during the autumn harvest. Because of his achievements, he was promoted to Wei Sima, who was responsible for defending the affairs of the countries in southern Shaanxi and southwestern Shaanxi.
In the second year of Emperor Xuandi (the first 60 years), the Huns were in civil strife. Wei Sima sent troops to meet the Japanese king and entered Chang 'an (Jin 'an). On the way, many of them were scared away by the kings, and Ji Zheng sent someone to chase and kill the escaped Huns. Ji Zheng's "broken car, falling day by day, conquering the western regions, and then merging with the road to the west and the north" claims to protect both the western regions (the road to the west and the south, and the road to the west and the north).
In the third year (the first 59 years), Ji Zheng was named Hou Anyuan, and was awarded the capital of the Western Regions. Ji Zheng established the Western Regions Capital Protection House in Leo (now Luntai, Xinjiang). In the first year of Ganlu, Xuan Di, Emperor Gaozu (53 years), Ji Zheng, the capital of the Western Regions, led troops to Guchi City, the capital of Wusun (located in Eastick, southwest of Lake Issyk-Kul), to rescue Princess You Jie and Wei Ruyi who were besieged because of the unsuccessful assassination of King Wusun.
Introduction to Ji Zheng's achievements:
In order to effectively manage the Western Regions and mediate the relations between countries in the Western Regions, Ji Zheng did a lot of work in the early days of the establishment of the Western Regions. In the western regions for more than 20 years, he has made outstanding achievements in plowing fields and canals, breaking rickshaws, welcoming the Japanese and chasing the king, which will go down in history forever.
During Ji Zheng's tenure as the capital of the western regions, the scale of reclamation in the western regions reached an unprecedented period. At the peak of the wasteland area in Luntai, there were 3,000 foot soldiers in wasteland. Luntai became one of the famous granaries in the Western Regions in Han Dynasty. Due to the vigorous development of reclamation, it not only lightened the burden of the western Han government and local people, but also solved the logistics supply of the army and enhanced the defense ability of the western regions.
Reclaiming farmland is an important measure for the Western Han government to unify and consolidate the western regions. The early reclamation was mainly to provide food for Chinese mainland's envoys to and from the western regions. Later, large-scale reclamation provided a reliable material guarantee for the unity and stability of the western regions.
