Proper exposure can help you accumulate a good personal reputation in the company/industry and lay a good foundation for promotion/salary increase/job hopping.
Good exposure should be a "win-win" relationship between yourself and your boss: the successful completion of the task means that your boss knows people/leaders well, and that the person in charge has good work ability/execution-both sides can get extra points in their careers.
But some people do not operate properly, focusing too much light on themselves, making the boss unhappy and making enemies for themselves. In this way, the resources in hand are diluted, but the opportunities in the future are ruined.
What's more, because of a success, he is cocky, sings against his boss in public, talks about his own views and opinions, feels that he is a star of tomorrow, and doesn't take his boss seriously. In fact, most people who are proud of their success once will never make progress again. Because he/she made many enemies in the arrogant period, when he/she became more ordinary, he/she could not get enough help from colleagues/superiors, and his/her performance in the work would be particularly poor.
The end result is usually to leave the company and feel incompetent. Because he/she has never found his/her own problems, the time is prolonged, and there is a high probability that he/she will change jobs frequently and jump harder and harder. It can be said that he/she screwed up the career.
It is not appropriate to give all the credit to your boss/colleagues. After all, I have contributed to the smooth completion of things. If you don't see your performance for a long time, it is very likely that the performance appraisal will be hit to the bottom of 10%, and you will face the fate of being swept away by the company. If you can't write on your resume/the industry hasn't heard of you, it's difficult to change jobs.
Zhi Hu- Please keep proper exposure in the workplace.
