Fei Xiaotong was born in Wujiang, Jiangsu. Sociologist, anthropologist, ethnologist, social activist, one of the founders of sociology and anthropology in China, vice chairman of the 7th the National People's Congress Standing Committee (NPCSC) and vice chairman of the 8th Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference.

Fei Xiaotong is engaged in sociological and anthropological research and has written a book of millions of words. Under the guidance of Malinowski, Fei Xiaotong completed his doctoral thesis entitled Kane's Economy, which became a reference book for students of the European Institute of Anthropology. Fei Xiaotong also won the Huxley Award, the highest award awarded by 198 1 Royal Institute of Anthropology. He is one of the founders of sociology and anthropology in China.
