Jinsha County belongs to Bijie City, Guizhou Province, located in the northwest of Guizhou Province and the east of Bijie City. It is a strong economic county in Guizhou Province and one of the most distinctive and potential demonstration counties in China.

1949 12 15, Jinsha liberation, 1950 Jinsha county people's government was established, belonging to Bijie area. There are five district people's governments in the county, which govern the original two towns, 16 townships and 163 baobao. 20111the State Council agreed to cancel Bijie area and set up Bijie city at prefecture level, which belongs to Jinsha county.
