According to Baidu Encyclopedia, Guangdong Lions Club is a social charity voluntary service organization with independent legal personality, which is specially approved by the State Council and registered in Guangdong Provincial Civil Affairs Department. Guangdong Lions Club was established on April 2, 2002, with Guo Deqin, former member of the Standing Committee of Guangdong Provincial People's Congress and then chairman of Guangdong Disabled Persons' Federation as the founding president and 53 founding members.
Since its establishment, Guangdong Lions Club has followed the principle of "running its own club, operating independently, adhering to its purpose and handling affairs according to law", and through the joint efforts of all its members, it has now formed a club-holding mechanism with China characteristics, and established an organization and management system and a service activity model in line with China's national conditions. By July 2022, a total of 278 service teams had been established with 10225 members.
