Cheng brief introduction
Cheng (1900 ~ 1987), born in Guanzhuang Township, Liling County, Hunan Province, 1900 on April 29th. He is the younger brother of Cheng Qian, the first-class general of the National Revolutionary Army and the general of the Kuomintang uprising.

19 16 was admitted to Hunan No.1 Normal University, and was in the same school as Mao Zedong. During this period, influenced by progressive teachers and students, he actively sought revolutionary truth and participated in the May 4th patriotic movement.

192 1 was admitted to Peking University as a major in education. Mr. Yu Dafu once taught him English and prose. During this period, he joined the left wing of the Kuomintang and became one of the earliest friends of the Kuomintang who cooperated with * * * in underground activities in Beijing.

During his stay in War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, he served as Counsellor of Tianshui Battalion of Kuomintang Military Committee from June 1939 to June 1940. Visiting Taihang Mountain Anti-Japanese Base Area, he was warmly received by Zhu De, Commander-in-Chief of the Eighth Route Army, Peng, Liu Bocheng, Zuo Quan and other senior generals.

1In August, 945, Yang Chao was arrested by the Fujian authorities of the Kuomintang for exposing his work. The cause was related to the "Yang Chao case" and was recalled to Chongqing by Chiang Kai-shek. Later, he was sent to Taiwan Province province. At the end of that year, he was arrested for the crime of "shielding * * * members" and detained in the Special Service Section of the Chief Executive's Office of Taiwan Province Province. 1947 1 month, which survived under the joint guarantee of Liu Fei and Xu Xiaoyan.

1948 In August, the Working Committee of Hunan Province of the Communist Party of China (Yu Zhihong, the representative of the Working Committee, 19 16 ~ 1972, who was the head of the philosophy department of Wuhan University after the founding of the People's Republic of China) wrote a letter to Cheng who was stranded in Taiwan Province Province, inviting him to participate in the work of instigating Hunan's peaceful liberation. After receiving the invitation letter from Yu Zhihong, Cheng risked his life to return to Changsha from Taiwan Province via Hongkong. Under the cover of the post of director of Hunan Material Adjustment Committee and deputy director of the Joint Office of the Party, Government and Army, he served as the plenipotentiary of Cheng Qian's peace talks with the Chinese Communist Party, giving advice to Cheng Qian for many times and secretly discussing the uprising. Cheng Qian entrusted him to contact Zhou Zhi and Yu Zhihong of Hunan Provincial Working Committee of the Communist Party of China. On behalf of Cheng Qian, he planned the uprising with the representatives of Chen Mingren, such as Wen Taimo and others, which eventually led to the uprising of General Cheng and General Chen, who were electrified on August 4.

1On September 23rd, 949, Cheng, as one of the 26 generals of the Kuomintang uprising, was received by his superiors in Beijing.

After the founding of New China, he successively served as vice chairman of Hunan Provincial People's Government, director of Culture and Education Committee, vice governor, director of Sports Commission, member of the first, second and third sessions of Hunan Provincial Political Consultative Conference, vice chairman and fifth chairman of the fourth session of Hunan Provincial People's Congress, member and standing committee of the Central Committee of the Revolutionary Committee, vice chairman of the Central Supervision Committee of the Revolutionary Committee, and chairman and consultant of Hunan Province. 1957 was wrongly classified as Rightist, and 1978 was corrected.

He is the first member of China People's Political Consultative Conference and the fifth and sixth standing committee.

1987 10 died safely on1October 22nd at the age of 88.
