Fengdu ghost town is located in the southeast edge of Sichuan basin and the upper reaches of the Yangtze River. This is an ancient city surrounded by mountains and rivers. Known as "Bazi Biedu" in the Spring and Autumn Period, it was the earliest tourist attraction to visit the Three Gorges of the Yangtze River from Chongqing. The theory of "ghost country and secluded capital" started from Pingdu Mountain. According to the Records of Fengdu County and Biography of Immortals by Ge Hong, it is said that there was a king and Yin Changsheng as immortals in Pingdu Mountain in Han Dynasty, and Taoism set up a heavenly teacher in this mountain, which was listed as one of the "36 caves and 72 blessed places".
