This mountain peak is one of the main skiing destinations for foreigners in Siguniang area, which was recorded in earlier years. On July 23, 2004, Chengdu Footprint Mountaineering Team, Chen and Chen successfully climbed to the top from the south slope, and then several teams successively climbed to the top. On New Year's Day, 2004, Lu Sange, a famous mountaineering guide, and members of the Beijing team were killed by an avalanche while climbing Camel Peak. In 2009, the mountaineering guide Dorje was killed by falling rocks. In June 2009, two members of the Russian mountaineering team were killed in an avalanche at Camel Peak.
