Brief introduction of Haiyun Temple
The temple was built in the Southern Han Dynasty (9 17-97 1). Originally a Buddhist Dojo donated by maritime merchants, it was once named longxing temple and Leifeng Temple. In the early Qing dynasty, a generation of natural monks entered the temple, rebuilt and expanded it, and named it Haiyun Temple. At the end of the Qing Dynasty and the beginning of the Republic of China, Haiyun Temple enjoyed its peak incense and was known as "one of the four jungles in central Guangdong". After the outbreak of the Anti-Japanese War, Panyu fell and the temple was destroyed. Since 2008, Guangdong Province has planned to rebuild Haiyun Temple.
