Portrait of Cao Xueqin
Cao Xueqin was born in a noble family in Qing Dynasty, and his grandfather Cao Yin weaved for Jiangning court. Cao Xueqin himself is unruly and has a wide range of hobbies. I often play and study epigraphy, poetry, calligraphy and painting, gardening, Chinese medicine, diet and so on. And his knowledge is very rich, which laid a solid foundation for him to write his famous novel A Dream of Red Mansions.
Speaking of Cao Xueqin, his name is worth mentioning. According to legend, three days after Cao Xueqin was born, he was caught in a timely rain, which eased the long-term drought. Father Cao \ was very happy and casually named him "Zhan". Ancient scholars were very particular about names, and they generally had origins. The longer the origins, the more sophisticated they became. Cao Xueqin's word "Zhan" is taken from the Book of Songs: "Excellent and abundant, full and full, give birth to me." In other words, it's raining in Mao Mao, full of water, nourishing the earth, irrigating in all directions, and the crops are thriving, just like when Cao Xueqin was born. Now we often say that "a long drought meets rain" is similar to this sentence in the Book of Songs. But it's not wonderful. In fact, the word "war" and "kindness" can also be checked. The Cao Shi family we know today is a vivid portrayal of En Shi.
The word "Xueqin" comes from the poem of Su Shi, a great writer: "The clay piano is rooted for a long time, and one inch is lonely; When the snow celery moves, the spring pigeon can grow. " Snow celery refers to celery in snow, which means when can celery germinate and grow in snow? I still have to wait until spring to fry with the meat of turtledove. I quote this word to show that I am as clean as Xueqin, which is also the origin of the name of a generation of literary giant Cao Xueqin.
The evaluation of Cao Xueqin, a historical figure, must be based on objective attitude and historical dialectical analysis.
Stills of TV series A Dream of Red Mansions
First of all, Cao Xueqin is undoubtedly one of the great novelists in China. During his lifetime, he wrote a literary masterpiece "Dream of Red Mansions" with "every word is blood", so that today's people are lucky enough to see the elegance in the Grand View Garden. A Dream of Red Mansions is a masterpiece in literary works, whether it involves all kinds of knowledge, all kinds of characters, or the author's talent and language. Mr. Lu Xun once said: "Scholars see the Book of Changes, Taoists see lewdness, talented people see lingering, revolutionaries see full rows, and gossips see secret things in the palace." This shows that the content of this novel is rich, and readers may have several interpretations of it. Coupled with the differences between the first 80 chapters and the last 40 chapters, the reader's interpretation of its ending is more colorful. Therefore, Cao Xueqin, as the author of A Dream of Red Mansions, has left us such precious spiritual wealth. He is undoubtedly one of the greatest novelists in China.
Secondly, we put the historical figure into the original life of history to see this figure. Cao Xueqin is undoubtedly a tragic figure. He lived a carefree and well-fed life in his childhood, but in his later years he was poor and hungry, and even his children could not support him. He lived by selling calligraphy and painting and helping his friends every day, and finally left his newly married widow. I have to say that Cao Xueqin's life was a failure, but at that time, as a family whose home was copied, and as the only successful career path in my career, Cao Xueqin may not be so smooth. Even though he was brilliant, the times laid the tone for Cao Xueqin's tragic fate, but fortunately, Cao Xueqin left us a "legacy" that enabled us to understand him and feel his charm through his works so far.
There is no doubt that Cao Xueqin is a man! This question is for "literature". Let me answer this question in the simplest language.
Portrait of Cao Xueqin
In the history of China literature, there are four classic novels, one of which is A Dream of Red Mansions, which describes the process of four feudal families, Jia Wang and Shi Xue, from prosperity to decline. The content describes various trivial matters of men and women such as Jia Baoyu, Lin Daiyu and Xue Baochai in the Grand View Garden. There are hundreds of characters in the whole novel, and each character is outstanding and impressed after reading it.
The recognized author of this novel is Cao Xueqin, a novelist in Qing Dynasty. According to scholars' research, Cao Xueqin was the grandson of Cao Yin, a famous minister of Kangxi Dynasty in Qing Dynasty. The Cao family was originally a Han nationality, and their ancestors made a fortune in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties. After the Qing Dynasty entered the customs, Cao Jia served as a court official as the coating of the internal affairs office. During the reign of Kangxi, Cao Yin's mother was Kangxi's nanny, and Cao Yin became the capital of Kangxi's class, and later became a bodyguard. Because of Kangxi's trust, Cao Yin was sent to the south of the Yangtze River to take the position of Jiangning Weaving, which only the emperor trusted most. Four people from three generations of Cao family have been weaving in Jiangning for more than 60 years, but they were confiscated because of the shortage of money and food in the court. Cao Xueqin was about 13 years old when he went to the property, and moved to Beijing with his family. When Cao Xueqin was a child, his family had good conditions and everything he wanted. It can be said that he also lived a carefree and happy life and learned a lot of talents that rich children should have. But since he moved to Beijing, his family's wealth has declined and life has become more and more difficult.
In his later years, Cao Xueqin moved to the western suburbs of Beijing, but he could only lead a hard life. As for how the masterpiece A Dream of Red Mansions was completed, there is no exact historical research, except that it was widely copied by the literati at that time, but the code word could not be eaten as a meal, coupled with the pain of losing his son, Cao Xueqin finally died after spitting out his old blood. A Dream of Red Mansions wrote: "Every word is like blood, and ten years of hard work is extraordinary." Every time I see these two sentences, I can't help feeling sorry.
