19 13. Yan was born in Cixi, Ningbo, Zhejiang Province (now Jiangbei Street Village), and was born into a noble family in Yan Hanlin Hutong, the northwest corner of Tianjin. Her grandfather is Yan Xiu, who is called "the father of Nankai University". 1906, Nankai was founded by the editor of the Hanlin Academy in the late Qing Dynasty, and was then known as one of the three treasures of Tianjin Wei. When Zhou Enlai was studying in Nankai Middle School, he was a student greatly admired by Yan Xiu. It was he who sponsored Zhou Enlai to study abroad. Yan Xiu died in 1929, and Ta Kung Pao praised him as "the perfect man of the old century".

Yan's father was the eldest son of Yan's family, but she died at the age of 6, so her grandfather was very strict with her education. Her early education was completed in the kindergarten and primary school run by her grandfather. The combination of Chinese and western education advocated by my grandfather has benefited Yan for life.

1935, Yan was admitted to Peking Union Medical College from the Biology Department of Tsinghua. I studied under Professor Lin, a famous expert in obstetrics and gynecology. After five years' study, Yan Zai 1940 obtained a doctorate from Union Medical College and was kept as a resident in obstetrics and gynecology. However, as the chosen successor of Lin, young Yan also faces a dilemma.

19411On February 7th, Japan attacked Pearl Harbor and the Pacific War broke out. As an American school, Union Medical College Hospital was also closed by the Japanese army. Her husband is her college classmate Wang Guangchao. After the closure of Concord, Yan helped in Wang Guangchao's private clinic.

1945 When Lin was transferred to Peking University Hospital, Yan, who was bent on becoming a clinician, followed. From 65438 to 0948, 35-year-old Yan was sent to Columbia University Medical College for further study. 10, Yan Hui arrived in the motherland. On June 2 1 day, Beijing ordered the closure of 224 brothels in Beijing to accommodate 1286 prostitutes. Yan, who just returned to China, took part in the physical examination of prostitutes.

1964, there is not even the most basic vaccine in rural areas. Under the instruction of Chairman Mao that "the focus of medical and health work should be oriented to the countryside", Yan went to Miyun County in the suburbs of Beijing to attend classes and treat gynecological diseases. She almost ran all over Kunan Kubei of Miyun Reservoir. Unfortunately, the "Cultural Revolution" broke out on 1966, and all activities had to be terminated.

During the Cultural Revolution, due to his special status, her husband Wang Guangchao was inevitably involved in this political storm. Wang Guangchao is his brother. Such social relations prevented her from going to the countryside to investigate, so she began to pay silent attention to the pain caused by illegal abortion.

After the Cultural Revolution, Yan was unanimously elected as the president of Peking University Hospital through the democratic election of 1979. But the first thing she did after taking office surprised everyone. She decided to switch from clinical practice to medical care, which is usually regarded as the most promising. Moreover, she not only changed careers, but also set up a maternal and child health center in the hospital and began to investigate the causes of maternal death in rural Beijing.

1983 "European seminar on perinatal detection in China" was held in Beijing. Chinese and American scientists discuss the high incidence of neural tube defects in northern China. Professor Yan and Dr. Aucler of the United States discussed the possibility of cooperative projects, which marked the official start of the research on neural tube defects in China and the United States.

Yan and his wife Wang Guangchao were called "Xinglin Shuang Yan", but in 2003, Wang Guangchao died at the age of 9 1, which was a big blow to Yan. Wang Guangchao used to be a dermatologist in Peking University Hospital, but he took care of his family in the second line. Every time Yan goes to the countryside and goes abroad, she leaves three children to Wang Guangchao. Colleagues have seen Wang Guangchao buy cotton-padded clothes in the store with his children.
