Dafeng Elk National Nature Reserve is located in the southeast of Dafeng City, Jiangsu Province, covering an area of 78,000 hectares. It is the largest elk nature reserve in the world, with the largest wild elk population and the largest elk gene bank in the world.

The nature reserve is a typical coastal wetland, and the main wetland types include tidal flats, seasonal rivers and sub-artificial wetlands. There are also a large number of woodlands, reeds, swamps, salt bare land and forest grass beaches.
