Luo Pingya 1963 graduated from Sichuan Petroleum Institute (now Southwest Petroleum University) majoring in drilling,1990.1-2005.09 served as president of Southwest Petroleum University, and 1995 was elected as an academician of China Institute of Engineering. He has been engaged in the teaching and research of petroleum engineering. A number of important achievements have been made in high temperature resistant deep well mud, polymer mud technology, drilling and completion technology for reservoir protection, wellbore stability, horizontal well drilling technology, seepage physical chemistry, tertiary oil recovery technology, oilfield applied chemical engineering theory and application technology. He presided over more than 40 scientific research projects at or above the provincial level, and won more than 30 scientific research achievement awards at or above the provincial level, including 6 national prizes and 9 provincial first prizes. He has published 6 monographs and more than 0/00 papers/kloc. More than 60 masters and doctors have been trained.
