It is reported that the Ministry of Education is studying and formulating "Guiding Opinions on Launching the Pilot Project of Transformation and Development of Some Ordinary Universities" according to the State Council's "Decision on Accelerating the Development of Modern Vocational Education" and the "Construction Plan of Modern Vocational Education System (20 14-2020)" of six ministries and commissions, so as to guide a number of undergraduate universities to transform into application-oriented universities by means of pilot promotion and demonstration.
Chen Feng, deputy director of the Development Planning Department of the Ministry of Education, said in an interview that in the process of promoting reform, it is necessary to prevent rushing headlong into it and compete for resources and projects to replace the reform itself; It is also necessary to prevent some colleges and universities from taking an irrelevant and high-hanging attitude and becoming "spectators" of reform.
In Chen Feng's view, guiding the transformation and development of some undergraduate colleges has multiple meanings. Only by facing the challenge directly and building Universities of Applied Sciences into a new university that directly integrates with the technological progress and value creation process of the industrial chain and grows together with local governments, industries and enterprises can these universities win the opportunity of sustainable development in the great changes of the times.
