The indissoluble bond between Liu Guangding and petroleum began with a heart-to-heart talk between two oil industry predecessors. It was July, 195 1. Teacher Tan Chengze led nine students including Liu Guangding to leave Beijing to extend their internship. It is an internship, but it is actually a meaningful arrangement of the party organization. Rao Yutai, then head of the department, was a doctor brought by Einstein, a famous scientist. As the head of the department, Dr. Rao was very worried about the students' future, because it was unrealistic at that time to go abroad for further study in order to make achievements in theoretical physics. At this moment, in order to create a new oil industry in China, the Ministry of Geology and Mineral Resources and the Ministry of Fuel Industry are anxiously recruiting talents from Peking University. So, with this special internship.
After arriving in Tongchuan, northern Shaanxi, Liu Guangding and his classmates met two geologists, Chen Ben and Wang Shangwen. Chen Ben is a member of the the Communist Party of China (CPC) underground party. 1938 graduated from Tsinghua University Geology Department, and Wang Shangwen and Chen Ben were in the same class. They are all pioneers in petroleum geology in China. During his stay at Shiro Temple in Tongchuan, one day after dinner, Mr. Chen Ben took the initiative to chat with his classmates. He introduced his work experience and experience to his classmates, hoping that they would devote themselves to the oil construction of the motherland. Chen Ben said: "Without oil, a country cannot develop. If oil is not in the hands of the country, the country cannot be strong and cannot develop. " How many years have passed, Liu Guangding still remembers this sentence clearly. It was this all-night talk that enlightened Liu Guangding's geological understanding and changed his life path. He said that patriotism means serving the country, but many problems of serving the country cannot be solved by atomic bombs. Oil is related to the economic lifeline of the country and is more practical. Therefore, in his later career, Mr. Wang formed an indissoluble bond with oil.
After returning to Peking University for summer internship, the school invited Mr. Weng Wenbo, one of the three great geophysicists in China, to give a lecture. At that time, the school asked Mr. Liu to be Mr. Weng's teaching assistant. During the day, Mr. Weng gives a lecture, and at night, Mr. Liu gives a big class. Say it again. Teaching is good for both sides, which makes him have a deeper geophysical foundation and a closer relationship with oil. 1952, after graduating from Liu Guangding University, he came to China Geo University, founded the Department of Geophysics with two other teachers, and started his teaching career for 12 years, which has delivered a large number of talents for the oil front. For the marine geological cause of China, Liu Guangding has been drifting at sea for 30 years from scratch, combing the sea of China like a comb. China's marine geophysical exploration started very late, and 1958 set up the first marine geophysical exploration team. From 65438 to 0960, after returning from the Soviet Union, Liu Guangding established the first teaching and research section of marine geophysical exploration in Beijing Institute of Geology. In the same year, he was ordered to form the Fifth Geophysical Exploration Brigade of the Ministry of Geology. At that time, the United States and other countries imposed an embargo on China, and the necessary instruments and equipment could not be imported. Ocean operation is different from land, so it is difficult to move without instruments. What do we do? We have to do it ourselves. In this regard, Liu Guangding said: "The basic methods of marine geophysical exploration include gravity, magnetism, earthquake, echo sounding, electrical method and other investigation methods. We don't have any instruments. We start from scratch. First of all, I organized four people to do the experiment with the submarine gravimeter for three years. Later, an aerial magnetometer was imported through entrepot trade. But the conditions at sea are different from those in the air, and a lot of noise interference should be overcome. A total of 3 or 4 people joined the research of refitting aeromagnetometer, and finally broke through the noise barrier, and the accuracy reached 2 NAT, which was close to the international level at that time. The most important instrument for marine geophysical exploration is seismograph, but at that time, we only used seismographs on land and could not use them in marine environment. So I led everyone to modify the land seismograph and develop the combined geophone and receiving cable. From 65438 to 0964, I led all the teachers in the Marine Geophysical Laboratory of Beijing Institute of Geology to set up the Marine Geophysical Laboratory of Nanjing Institute of Geology, and further developed the underwater piezoelectric geophone by using lead zirconate titanate ceramics (PZT-5). I had no experience and no reference, so I worked hard on my own. At first, the receiving cable tied the geophones together with telephone lines, which was 3000 meters long and hung with buoys. However, there is a problem. When shooting, the detector floats horizontally as soon as it pulls the rope, so it is impossible to measure the data. So we developed a telescopic system. When shooting, we first put the spill detector away with a rope and put it back into the water quickly after shooting. The time here must be well controlled, and you must return to the scheduled place within 10 seconds. Later, people kept thinking and developed a floating detector, which can receive more data by putting it in a plastic pipe instead of a telephone line. 1965 The discovery of seabed structures and oil fields in Bohai Sea relies on these self-developed gravimeters and seismic instruments. " With the instrument, there must be a probe ship. At first, they borrowed the landing ship 83 1 from the navy for experimental observation. Later, they bought two fishing boats, named "Huo Xing 1 and No.2", to carry out earthquake investigation, one as an explosion ship and the other as a receiving ship. Later, two articles were added, "Liaoyuan 1 and 2", one was gravity and the other was sounding. Later, two 1700-ton "Struggle 1 No.2" were built to replace the Spark Earthquake Ship.
Liu Guangding relied on their own hands, so they developed instruments, devoted themselves to various researches such as gravity and magnetism, earthquake and sounding at sea, and adopted various positioning measures such as radio shore station and satellite positioning, which greatly improved the accuracy of measurement data. Liu Guangding himself traveled to Beijing, Nanjing, Zhanjiang and Shanghai with the migration of research institutions, but he always loved the China Sea. Under the leadership of Liu Guangding, the offshore geophysical exploration in China has obtained excellent measured data. Starting from 1986, he seconded more than 100 business backbones, which lasted for 6 years and compiled the first systematic and high-precision series map of China, describing the topography, geodynamics, Cenozoic sedimentary basins and minerals of China. The nine series of charts are not only of high academic value, but also of great significance to the exploration and development of offshore oil and gas resources and the maintenance of China's maritime sovereignty and rights and interests. As an important achievement of China delegation, 65438-0992 series charts were exhibited at the 29th World Geological Congress, which immediately attracted extensive attention and high praise from international geologists, and famous geologists from the United States, the former Soviet Union, Japan, South Korea, Turkey and other countries demanded them in succession. Texas a & amp; Professor Hill of M University will never forget this series of drawings. He mentioned it repeatedly in his lectures, hoping to get a set in his dream. Liu Guangding visited A &;; M University finally got Professor Hill's wish. This set of maps is widely cited as basic data by more and more major scientific research projects at home and abroad. The Pacific and Atlantic Cartographic Committee under UNESCO has included eight series of maps in the World Atlas of Oceans intact.
Liu Guangding's "Study on Geological Structure and Petroleum Properties of China Sea" and "Geological Geophysical Series Map of China Sea Area and Its Adjacent Areas" won the second prize of National Natural Science and the first prize of Science and Technology of the Ministry of Geology and Minerals respectively. These two important achievements, together with other related works, have established Liu Guangding's prominent position in the field of marine geology in China, and have been called "the father of marine geology in China" by scientific circles at home and abroad. The 30 years of drifting at sea is a period in which Liu Guangding made great contributions to marine geology in China, and it is also a period in which he felt more deeply. Among them, Twenty Years in Hainan is the most memorable. At that time, my daughter was in Tianjin, my son was in Hainan Island and my wife was in Beijing. Although his work unit is in Shanghai, he has been drifting at sea for a long time. In that turbulent era, he was designated as a typical "white road in * * *" and stood aside. Most troops moved from Nanjing to Zhanjiang, but he was left behind. He once made a living by doing odd jobs because of food and clothing insecurity. Suddenly one day, three telegrams urged him to return to the team and asked him to solve the practical problems in the offshore exploration site. Therefore, he was named "technical director of the party", but there was no bed for him at the scene and he had to live in the cable pile of the exploration and measurement ship. He collected 40 boxes of books, but at that time, he was confused about the fate of these books. He divided these books into three categories. One kind is unique in China, and he thinks he has no right to abandon them. One is useful for wives who are also engaged in geophysics teaching and research. She doesn't think she should get rid of them. The last category is all kinds of books he likes, which he thinks can be disposed of. Liu Guangding was very sad when he sold his carefully collected books as waste. Hard leather 1 cent 1 kg, soft leather 3 cents 1 kg, he sold 33 yuan money altogether. With money, he had a drink with his friends and then went on his way. And he wrote a poem to prove it: "Generous vicissitudes do not worry about autumn. What does Wu Gou want after reading it? " Everyone praises Jiangnan, and there is only one word left without you. Drink a big glass in the closet and swim in the rivers, lakes and seas. People who travel all over the castle peak are not old. How much wind and rain will pay off? "(1September 3, 970)
When Liu Guangding led his colleagues to measure the China Sea inch by inch, it was not the country that gave him such a task. His task is mainly to study sedimentary basins and look for marine oil and gas. After 1965 discovered the Bohai Basin, 1973 discovered a large anticline structure in the southwest of Beibu Gulf, and then discovered a huge Cenozoic sedimentary basin in the Pearl River Estuary. In the same year, Liu Guangding was transferred to Shanghai as the deputy chief engineer and head of the comprehensive research team of Shanghai Marine Geological Survey. After analyzing the geological and geophysical data of the Yellow Sea, the comprehensive research team found that the South Yellow Sea Basin was divided into two depressions by the central uplift. The poor oil and gas properties of the third deposit are the main reason why the drilling with drilling ship failed to obtain good oil and gas display. From the geological conditions, oil and gas exploration can not be confined to the South Yellow Sea, but must vigorously explore the East China Sea. Therefore, Liu Guangding, together with a group of geologists, made suggestions to the Central Committee many times, and first conducted a regional geophysical survey in the East China Sea. It is found that there are three ridges and two basins on the seabed of the East China Sea, that is, there are shelf basins and Okinawa Trough basins between the Zhejiang-Fujian uplift belt in the west, the Diaoyu uplift belt in the middle and the Ryukyu uplift belt in the east, among which the East China Sea shelf basin has three sedimentary centers. Therefore, we concentrated our efforts on the investigation of Xihu sag located in the east of Zhejiang Province, and found that local structures developed in series, and tertiary strata were thick, with good oil and gas properties. On the basis of further detailed seismic investigation, industrial oil flow was finally drilled in the third layer of Pinghu structural belt.
1On August 4th, 982, when the good news that Longjing No.2 well was "producing oil" came, Liu Guangding was so excited that he improvised the word "He Xinlang" and spoke freely: "The choppy place. A red flag was flying in the storm. Going east to the great river to wash sand and mud, the Yangtze River and the Yellow River pour down, and the West Lake is fertile under the sea. Yuquan in Huagang occupies a romantic atmosphere, and the flowers in the placanticline are green trees. Chisel Longjing, transport axes, and scatter the stars and the moon to bring summer heat. In the rough waves, I look far away, and the bridge is waiting to cross. Wan Lifeng alert audio, is this a long way? Knock on the blue pass, and the sad song will spit in the dark. Suddenly I heard that Hu eggplant broke the clear sky and eight feet of fireworks reflected Qiong Yu. Floating white, singing golden light. " (Note: According to the suggestion of Academician Zhu Xia, all the oil and gas wells explored in the East China Sea shelf basin are named after the famous scenic spots of the West Lake, such as Huagang and Longjing, which are deeply loved by Chinese people. In this regard, an old gentleman who studies literature commented that "poetry is like a person" and Liu Guangding's poems are "very atmospheric". This song "He Xinlang" vividly embodies Liu Guangding's bold personality and childlike innocence, especially in the second half of the poem, which depicts in detail his psychological process of waiting for the drilling results, worrying about the bad news and wandering around, and once he hears the good news, he cries with joy.
In the East China Sea shelf basin cultivated in Liu Guangding, 18 wells have been drilled successively, of which 1 1 wells have found oil and gas, which is a very high hit rate. Natural gas from the East China Sea Basin continuously supplies the Shanghai market. Offshore oil and gas exploration in China shows a good momentum. Industrial gas flows have been discovered successively in Bohai Sea, East China Sea Shelf, Pearl River Estuary, Qiongdongnan and Yinggehai, and the six Cenozoic sedimentary basins in the whole offshore shelf area show good oil and gas prospects. The greatest pleasure of Mr Liu Guangding's life is to collect and read martial arts novels. On the plane and in the car, he didn't put it down and enjoyed it with relish. He is a famous "fan of Jin Yong", and there are all the books published by this master in the cupboard, which are explained like a few treasures. Up to now, he has obtained 13 doctor,1/postdoctoral, 18 master. These doctors, masters and Liu Guangding have one thing in common, that is, they like "Huashan on Sword". In the Chinese Academy of Sciences, it is rumored that if you want to take the master's and doctoral students of Teacher Liu, the first question when you meet for the first time is "Have you read Jin Yong's martial arts novels?" If you have read it, tell me the true meaning of Jin Yong's martial arts novels. If you haven't read it, I'll lend you one. Read it first. In this regard, Mr. Liu is noncommittal. But Mr. Liu has a unique understanding of martial arts books. He said: "I love reading Jin Yong's books. The first reason is that his wonderful writing is rich, strange, reasonable and unexpected. The content is completely free from the constraints of etiquette and social norms, unconventional and creative, which is precisely an innovative spirit. A nation should have innovative spirit, and scientific research needs innovative spirit even more. Secondly, what I read is not only the gunfight and the lingering sadness in the novel, but also the content behind the text. Between the lines of the novel, you can read that the author is describing a kind of human nature. Society is constantly changing, but human nature is unchanged. In Jin Yong's novels, you can still hear the melody of patriotism echoing ... "Listening to his witty remarks about Jin Yong, it is hard to imagine that he is a scientist who has been engaged in scientific research for more than half a century.
As an intellectual, underground party member, scientist and senior cadre who came from old China, Liu Guangding accompanied the ups and downs of the world. Since he made a grand oath to look for oil for his country, he has traveled all over China for the Central Plains, the legendary swordsman and Tianshan Mountains in the past 50 years. His strong physique benefited from practicing martial arts since childhood. He persisted in practicing in hot and cold weather for 60 years and mastered Tai Ji Chuan Kung Fu. During these 20 years, Mr. Liu has written three books: one is his professional work Marine Geophysical Exploration, the other is a collection of poems collected by students later, and the other is Scaffolding and Pushing Hands from Taiji Biography. Among them, Tai Chi Chuan Jia and Tuizi printed 42,000 copies in the first edition of 1980, and 330,000 copies in the second edition three years later. Anyone familiar with the relationship between Tai Ji Chuan and his teacher knows that the Tai Ji Chuan of Chenjiagou was divided into two branches hundreds of years ago. In modern history, Liu (Guang Dou) and Liu Wancang, two famous Tai Ji Chuan artists, Chen Changxing, were Liu Guangding's eldest brother and cousin respectively.
Mr Liu is cheerful and open-minded. He hates bullies most in his life. In the face of injustice, he always speaks out and dares to act. He is recognized as a "hero" by Chinese Academy of Sciences. 1999, Liu Guangding celebrated his seventieth birthday, and students wrote inscriptions for him. "Ding Yan emphasizes righteousness, and the virtue of a gentleman inspires future generations" and "aboveboard"? Fight for firewood in shushan " Hiroyuki before the light? Ye Ding's success and other conjunctions can be called the best portrayal of his inspiring academic life. 1929 was born in Beijing and his ancestral home was Penglai, Shandong. /kloc-0 joined the revolution in September, 1948,1graduated from the physics department of Peking University in July, 1952, and later taught at Beijing Institute of Geology 12. 1958, the first marine geophysical exploration team in China was established as the team leader. 1964 Director of Geophysical Research Office, Institute of Marine Geology, Ministry of Geology, Technical Director of the Second Marine Geological Survey Brigade, Deputy Chief Engineer of Marine Geological Survey, and Comprehensive Research Team Leader; 1980 served as deputy director of the marine geology department of the Ministry of Geology and Minerals and deputy director of the Bureau of Petroleum Geology and Marine Geology; 1989, Director of Institute of Geophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences; In 193, 1980, he was elected as an academician of China Academy of Sciences, and 1993 was elected as an academician of the Third World Academy of Sciences. Member of the Eighth and Ninth China People's Political Consultative Conference. Academician Liu Guangding has long been engaged in oil and gas exploration and geotectonic research in China. He has published monographs such as Offshore Oil and Gas Exploration and Development, Geology and Oil and Gas Exploration in the East China Sea, covering marine geology, oil and gas exploration, geophysics and other fields. Starting from the field of geophysics, he discussed the macro-structural pattern of China, geophysical prediction of mineral resources and pre-Cenozoic marine residual basins in China. Published more than 80 papers, translated 34 articles, lectures, reports, popular science 10 volumes. During the Seventh Five-Year Plan period, he presided over the national key project "Theory, method and technology research for finding large oil and gas fields", and presided over the national natural science foundation's major project "Geophysical research of continental thin interbedded reservoirs" during the Eighth Five-Year Plan period. 196 was elected as a member of the "863" expert group on marine exploration and resource development technology. In 2000, he served as Superposed Basin and 973. He has twice won the second prize of National Natural Science, Zhu Kezhen Field Work Award of China Academy of Sciences, Li Siguang Science Honor Award, Hong Kong He Liang Heli Science and Technology Progress Award and China Academy of Sciences Science and Technology Progress Special Award.
