The Historical Evolution of Sanjiangkou Town
The original place name of Sanjiangkou Town was Houdamingtun. According to the investigation, in 1889 (15th year of Guangxu), the fertile fields and houses on the right bank were flooded by the East Liaohe River, and the Sanjiangkou area of Horqin Left-wing Rear Banner in Zhelimu League, Inner Mongolia was seriously affected. The homeless in Sanjiangkou have crossed the river to the left bank of Dongliao River and settled in Daming Village. Due to the large number of households in Sanjiangkou, some handicraft owners and businessmen returned to their old jobs, so Daming Tunpu was changed to Sanjiangkou. Because Sanjiangkou Town is located at the intersection of Liaoning, Kyrgyzstan and Mongolia provinces, it is a military stronghold in Northeast China and the periphery of Siping City. During the period of Japanese puppet rule, the people of Sanjiangkou fought bloody battles with the Japanese invaders in cooperation with the Northeast Anti-Japanese Volunteers against Japanese imperialist aggression and slavery. On the day of the liberation war, the town was in the struggle between the Kuomintang and the Eighth Route Army. At that time, Gong, deputy secretary of the county party committee, personally sat in Sanjiangkou, commanding the armed forces and cooperating with the Eighth Route Army. In the battle to conquer Siping, the people of this town cooperated with the main force to prevent the Kuomintang troops from going south to help. After repeated fighting between the enemy and ourselves, 1947 liberated the territory. In the 50 years after liberation, under the leadership of China, various undertakings have advanced by leaps and bounds, and the socialist revolution and socialist construction have played a magnificent triumph.
